Jack Gleeson came to University College Dublin, and settled for a rare 30 minute Question and Answer session. He talks about thinking if he is going to continue acting after his time in Game of Thrones is over. He also mentions that he hasn’t met Mark Gatiss, so most likely, we won’t see Tycho Nestoris coming to Kings Landing.
Here is a recording of the interview:
Yes, you heard it right! George R. R. Martin confirmed on his blog Not a Blog that A Dance with Dragons
will be released by Bantam Books on the 29th of October simultaneously in Mass Market and Paperback. As he says himself
This was done largely at the request of the bookstores. The hardcover was still selling strongly (still is, actually), so they wanted the paperback delayed.

He has also confirmed that a The Winds of Winter chapter will be published along with the paperback (but at this stage he cannot remember which one!)
Also in a surprise announcement in this blog post, he has confirmed the publication of a BRAND NEW booklet written by him to be in bookstores by Christmas called The Wit & Wisdom of Tyrion Lannister
More information is yet to be known about this new book.

As Season 4 filming gets well underway, we start to have another slue of casting announcements comes along the wire.
Elizabeth Webster is set to be cast as Walda Frey in the upcoming season. She is the the grand-daughter of Lord Walder Frey and is set to be the young new wife of Roose Bolton. She has acted in TV series such as the hit British TV Drama “Call The Midwife” and “The Bloody Mary Show”.
Another casting announcement is of Lu Corfied who will be playing a Mole’s Town madame in the new season. She is most notably known for playing Dr. Freya Wilson in the TV Drama “Doctors”. She has also acted in “The Woman in Black” voicing Jennet.
Interesting news also from over at Winteriscoming.net, apparently Noah Taylor is indeed returning as Locke in season four but he is also going to be sent to the Wall along with the other Bolton bannermen who stood by while Jaime Lannisters hand was cleavered off. Interesting dynamic the show is introducing. I wonder what they are going to do with it. Comment below on what you think is likely to happen!
Filming in Croatia began Wednesday in the Trsteno Arboretum. Some members of the local press were allowed to go down and watch including Croatian News site Dulist. They provided a report on set and and numerous photographs of filming taking place:
There was also a set report done by Mark Thomas from AnEnglishmanin Dubrovnik.com and includes some photos of a new set being constructed in addition to the Hotel Belvedere in Fort St. Lawrence in Gradac Park
There also some new photos of the new set at JustDubrovnik.com
There was also a video report done by Croatian news website RTL Televisia in which you can see by following the link.
It’s great that we are getting so many set photos so early on in the filming process. Comment below about what you think these sets will be used for!
According to sources at Winteriscoming.net, the actor playing Tomenn Bartheon has been replaced by Dean Charles Chapman.
15 year-old Dean has been in a few films of note in his acting career including in The White Queen, The Revolting World of Stanley Brown and also in the upcoming film Before I Go to Sleep. Dean has actually been in Game of thrones before, playing one of the two Lannister boys that Rickard Karstark gets axed for murdering.
It is an interesting turn of events, but likely most people watching the show will remember him at all considering he has been missing from the show for a season.
We still await HBO’s conformation of this recast
This scene first appeared via the SDCC panel they had last month. Now HBO released it themselves on the Game of thrones YouTube Channel.
It is a scene featuring Grand Maester Pycelle and Tywin Lannister discussing the status of Pycelle’s place on the small council. Charles Dance’s acting really is brilliant and it is worth the watch.
This scene along with other deleted scenes will feature on the the soon to be released on the Game of Thrones Season 3 Blu-Ray
Leave a comment on whether you think this scene should have been left in or not.

Salladhor Saan – Wealthy Pirate Lord from Lys
During yesterday morning’s earnings call, Time Warner CEO Alan Bewkes was making the usual pitch for higher affiliate fees, greater appreciation of the company’s TV shows and films and…. piracy?
In response to a question from investors as to whether the company see’s the mass theft of the show Game of Thrones as a compliment, Bewkes said:
I have to admit it, I think you’re right. The much-discussed fantasy series is HBO’s most popular TV show, and if you go to people who are watching it without subs, it’s a tremendous word-of-mouth thing….
We’ve been dealing with this for 20, 30 years—people sharing subs, running wires down the backs of apartment buildings. Our experience is that it leads to more paying subs. I think you’re right that Game of Thrones is the most pirated show in the world and that’s better than an Emmy.
- Alan Bewkes
We have always known that HBO take a more “unusual” approach in terms of tackling piracy, but to have the exec. of Time Warner come out and say that having the most pirated show in the world is “better than an Emmy” is completely unheard of.
Give us your thoughts on it in the comments below!
Last night, the Television Critics Association held their awards last night in Beverly Hills, California. Game of Thrones succeeded to take home the award for “Best Achievement in Drama”. It was against renowned shows such as Breaking Bad, Homeland, The Americans and Mad Men. It however did lose out to Breaking Bad in the “Program of the Year” category.
We really can’t use these awards to give us a glimpse into the upcoming Emmy’s since the voting bodies are completely different however it is still nice that Thrones gets another trophy that it can add to its collection
